# Quolla Privacy and Safety Summary

## Privacy-first learning memory

Quolla should avoid storing unrelated private classroom conversations.

The app focuses on educational memory, including:

- cleaned lesson content
- lesson summaries
- concept cards
- generated questions
- student answers
- mistakes
- explanations
- weak-topic signals
- study report features

## What is filtered out

Quolla filters or discards:

- background student chat
- private conversations
- unrelated jokes
- behaviour management
- filler speech
- incomplete noise
- personal teacher comments unrelated to learning
- unrelated classroom logistics

## What may be stored

Quolla may store:

- cleaned transcript chunks
- topic labels
- concept tags
- definitions
- formulas
- examples
- teacher corrections
- student questions related to the lesson
- generated questions
- answer events
- mistake records
- study report data
- uploaded class materials

## What should not become durable memory

Quolla should not promote unrelated private conversations, gossip, personal details, or background chat into long-term memory.

## Mistake memory

Mistake records are valuable because they help students revise.

A mistake record may include:

- question
- wrong answer
- correct answer
- explanation
- topic
- subtopic
- misconception
- timestamp
- mastery status

## Fallback transparency

If live audio is unclear and the app asks a fallback question from saved mistakes, weak concepts, or uploaded material, the student sees a short disclosure.

Example:

"Live audio is unclear, so here is a quick recap from your saved mistakes."

## Not a cheating tool

Quolla is designed to help students understand concepts. It does not give answers before the student attempts active learning questions.
